Didion Milling Golf Outing Raises Significant Funds
for the Old Mill Foundation’s Didion Benefit Fund
Proceeds will benefit employees, families and emergency personnel affected by May tragedy

Oct. 24, 2017—Cambria, Wis.—The 11th annual Didion Golf Outing raised more than $50,000 for the Old Mill Foundation, surpassing last year’s record by nearly $15,000.

This year’s event took place on Sept. 28 at The Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, with 120 golfers representing 37 different companies. Since its inception in 2008, this annual outing has raised more than $180,000 for the Old Mill Foundation. This year, the proceeds will go to the Foundation’s Benefit Fund supporting employees, families and emergency personnel affected by the May 31 events at Didion’s Cambria facility.

“We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such a caring community,” said Riley Didion, president of Didion Milling. “It’s because of their support that this event gets bigger and better every year.”

Founded in 2006, The Old Mill Foundation gives back to the Cambria-Friesland community through support of local nonprofit organizations which work to enhance the lives of residents in the Village of Cambria, Township of Courtland, and the Cambria-Friesland School District. Every year, the Foundation awards grants that strengthen education, community, the environment, literacy, and other enrichment efforts in the Cambria-Friesland area.

Families Affected by Explosion Receive Support from Donations to the Old Mill Foundation’s Didion Benefit Fund

Aug. 7, 2017—Cambria, Wis.—The Old Mill Foundation, a local nonprofit organization, is pleased to announce that funds raised by the community for the Didion Benefit Fund are being distributed to individuals affected by the recent tragedy at the Didion Milling plant in Cambria.

Money in the fund was raised thanks to an incredible outpouring of community support, and is being distributed by the Old Mill Foundation to cover various expenses. In addition to affected families, first responders, EMTs, and Didion employees who provided emergency assistance the night of the incident also have received aid from the Didion Benefit Fund. Donations to the fund have helped cover funeral costs, hospital bills, grief counseling services and general day-to-day costs.

“It’s incredibly encouraging to see members of our community—as well as other local communities—really stand up for each other in the wake of tragedy,” said Old Mill Foundation Treasurer Scott Link. “You see people lifting each other up, making sure their friends and neighbors are going to be able to make it through. It’s a privilege to be part of such a great community effort.”

Link encourages community members to share information on their fundraising efforts so the foundation can help promote the events to the community. The next major fundraising event to benefit the fund will be the Didion Milling Annual Golf Outing on September 28 at The Oaks Golf Course.

The Old Mill Foundation will continue accepting donations to the Didion Benefit Fund and distributing funds to affected families, first responders, EMTs and Didion employees who provided emergency assistance the night of the incident based on need. A small portion will remain in the fund to cover future expenses.

8th Annual Golf Outing Raises More Than $18,000

CAMBRIA, Wis., August 6, 2014 – The eighth annual Old Mill Foundation Golf Outing raised a record $18,000 in donations this year, surpassing the previous record by almost $3,000.

The four-person scrabble took place July 25th at the Fox Lake Golf Club in Fox Lake, Wis. Didion Milling has hosted this event since its inception in 2008. The golf outing has raised more than $80,000 over the past eight years. All proceeds from the event benefit the Old Mill Foundation.

“The mission of the Old Mill Foundation is to support the Cambria area community,” said John Didion, chief executive officer of Didion Milling and president of the Old Mill Foundation. “It is an opportunity and a privilege to help enrich the community we do business in.”

Founded in 2006, the Old Mill Foundation contributes to the Cambria area community through support of local nonprofit organizations that work to enhance the lives of the Village of Cambria, Township of Courtland and the Cambria-Friesland School District. 7th Annual Golf Outing Raises More Than $15,000

Cambria, Wis., Aug. 1, 2013 – This year the Old Mill Foundation Golf Outing set a new record, raising more than $15,000 for the foundation. The event also saw its first hole-in-one contest winner, Al Ogorzalek of New Berlin, Wis. He hit a hole-in-one on the Ballweg Implement-sponsored hole 10 to win a John Deere XUV550 S4 Gator.

Didion Milling hosted the seventh annual golf outing on July 26. The four-person scramble took place at Fox Lake Golf Club in Fox Lake, Wis. All proceeds benefitted the Old Mill Foundation.
